In two days, from 1 August to 2 August 2019, more than 700 locals living in Hua Trai, Muong La, Son La have received free health check-ups, medications, and other gifts from Hong Ngoc Hospital and its partners.

The annual program named Healing up Hands has been organized by Hong Ngoc General Hospital for 7 years, aiming to share love with disadvantaged people living in remote areas, helping them to improve their health for better work and life.

The Healing up Hands this year is hosted in Hua Trai Commune, Muong La District, Son La Province. The area is extremely poor in with hard living and travelling conditions and occupied by Thai, Mong, La ha ethnic locals. Here, they cannot access to basic healthcare services.

The program includes two main activities: free examination and medicine giving to locals and gift giving to students of Hua Trai Primary and Secondary School.

In the two days of examination, the doctors examined for nearly 2000 visits including to ENT, Internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetric and gynecological examination and 2D ultrasound. 700 people received free medications and 800 gift sets were given to them. In particular, Hong Ngoc General Hospital’s doctors detected 4 cases of tricuspid valve regurgitation and one case of congenital defect. However, these patients are too young for operation. The doctors will collect more information and help them in treatment when their health conditions meet necessary requirements.

The Healing up Hands 2019 is hosted by Hong Ngoc General Hospital in collaboration with Vietnam General Confederation of Labour’s branch in Son La Province and the “Golden Heart” charitable fund, Lao Dong Newspaper and Dong A Pharmaceutical Trading Co., Ltd. The program is also sponsored Everest School with 200 gift sets including schoolbags, notebooks and pens for disadvantaged students studying in Hua Trai Primary and Secondary School. A set of TV and one year using K+ is given to the school to enhance teaching quality for the students there.

Despite numerous difficulties and problems that the team of Hong Ngoc had to face such as broken car, mountainous terrace, and language conflicts, Healing up Hands program of Hong Ngoc General Hopsital has successfully ended. The happy smiles of locals warmed the heart of our specialists, motivating us and other partners to organize more charity programs in the coming time.
