Aiming at connecting the community, sharing love and eliminating the inferiority complex of the visually impaired, on 12 March 2017 Hong Ngoc General Hospital has been honored to be the main medical sponsor for VAF’s Run 2GETHER.
When we hold hands running for a long way, every distance seems nothing, we are just friends and beloved Vietnamese fellows. This is the meaningful message delivered by the Run 2GETHER – Run with the visually impaired 2017. The event was hosted by Vietnam And Friends (VAF) and sponsored by YSEALI, US Embassy.
Continuing its success of 2016, this year the run attracted 600 participants, including both the visually impaired and sighted people. In this running competition, pairs of visually impaired runners and their sighted counterparts supported each other to finish the distances of 1.7km and 3.4km. In addition to two main runways, the event also consisted of side activities for sighted people to experience, understand and sympathy for everyday life of the visually impaired, encouraging them to eliminate all prejudices and complex that have separated them from others.
To support the 2GETHER 2017, Hong Ngoc General Hospital has continued to become the main medical sponsor for the program. Accordingly, Hong Ngoc General Hospital set up a medical station at the start point so that all participants would always receive medical support from the hospital’s doctors and nurses. Moreover, 250 individual health check-up vouchers worthing 252,500,000VND were given to the visually impaired. 25 staff of the hospital also joined in the run in both two distances of 1.7km and 3.4km.
