The health festival for the elderly organized by Hong Ngoc General Hospital in collaboration with Hanoi Radio Television has successfully taken place on 28 June 2019, offering free health check-up and consultation to 300 elder people. The event was hosted at Van Ho Exhibition Center, 2 Hoa Lu, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi.
Hong Ngoc Hospital contributes to improve health of the elderly and bring happiness to them
Healthcare is one of the three main missions of the National Action program on Vietnam elderly in the period 2012 – 2020, with the subject of “Join hands for health and happiness of the elderly”. In response to this program, from the beginning of the year, Hong Ngoc Hospital has advocated participating in practical healthcare programs for the elderly.
One of these programs is the health festival named “Free health check-up and medications for senior members of Hanoi Association of Elderly”. The event was hosted at Van Ho Exhibition Center, 2 Hoa Lu, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi in the morning 28 June 2019 with the participation of more than 300 senior members of the association of the elderly around the city.
300 members of the association of the elderly enjoyed free health check-up and consultation
Nearly 20 doctors, nurses and supporting staff of Hong Ngoc General Hospital presented at the event from the early morning, getting ready to welcome, provide health check-up services and consult on health conditions for the elderly.
During the scorching summer day, 300 senior members of the association registered for health check-up. Some of them live far away from the event venue, some are very aged but still came to the festival right from the first hours. This was a great motivation for Hong Ngoc’s medical staff to work harder.
Hong Ngoc Hospital’s doctor examining and counselling for the elderly
Each participant experienced various steps of examination, including:
– General Internal Medicine: General physicians measure height, weight, abdominal circumference, blood pressure, heart rate, breathing frequency to detect pathological risk factors and assess physical health.
– General surgery examination (for treatment of injuries that need surgery)
– Capillary blood glucose test
– Physical screening: Using a device to measure inbody index (muscle, fat, weight, protein, minerals, water volume, …)
– Detecting atherosclerosis
After the medical staff measures required indexes, doctors consulted with each patient about their health conditions and answered their questions, making them satisfied.
Mrs. Nguyen Thi Minh Truc (72 years old, Vinh Tuy District) shared “Each of us has our own situation. Not all of us can afford medical examination at good hospitals. Sometimes we are afraid to ask doctors too many questions. I am satisfied with the program today. The doctors are dedicated, equipment is modern and we do not have to wait for a long time as well.”
“My relatives also go to Hong Ngoc Hospital for examination and treatment. When I came to the hospital to visit them, I felt like going into a hospital. So today when seeing Hong Ngoc here, I feel so happy”, said Mrs. Truc.
The program of Free health check-up and medications for the elderly is one of numerous charity activities that Hong Ngoc Hospital has hosted and participated over the years to provide high quality healthcare services to Vietnamese people.
